Involve other people in learning and doing innovation with you. When you are just working on your computer, have a video playing to listen and learn. Creativity Innovation and Transformation Talk as Side Effects of Empathizing

Creativity Innovation and Transformation Talk as Side Effects of Empathizing. The act of making is not about creativity or innovation, but rather a challenge to empathize with others different from ourselves. That other may be a character in a play, a fellow actor, a piece of wood, a dancer, or even your own body. We often think we know them, but really… have no idea.

Creativity and Innovation in Micro Enterprises

“Design has been defined as a transformation of existing conditions. Design thinking is process. A process that is optimised for certain things for really building up what might be as opposed to breaking down what is. if you can visualise it as a set of tools or a problem solving approach that’s not better than analytic thinking its just optimised for certain conditions of real uncertainty”.

About CIME
Creativity and Innovation in Micro Enterprises, the CIME project provides micro-enterprises across South-East Ireland access to leading-edge development and training programmes designed to encourage creativity and innovative thinking within their organisations.

The overall aim of CIME is to help micro – small, medium enterprises to think in a more creative and innovative way in order to survive in the current challenging economic climate. Creativity Innovation and Design Video: An Uncommon Knowledge

Creativity Innovation and Design Video: An Uncommon Knowledge with David Kelley. In this episode of Uncommon Knowledge, Peter sits down with David Kelley, author of Creative Confidence, professor of Stanford’s Hasso Plattner Institute of Design, and founder of IDEO, one of the world’s most prestigious design firms. Kelley offers a profound perspective on everyone’s innate ability to be creative and the need to encourage the use of creativity in every aspect of today’s society. “The United States is particularly well suited for being innovative,” says Kelley; “when we grew up everyone knew who invented the cotton gin and who invented the telephone, they were our heroes. This will continue to drive us to innovation.”

Fostering Creativity and Innovation Video in the Workplace

Fostering Creativity and Innovation Video in the Workplace.  Jude Reggett is currently practicing as a clinical psychotherapist and advises in the area of workforce development and change management. She has had 15 years’ experience with Northern Sydney Institute, with 8 of those years working in Senior Educational roles.

The modern organisation is in search of a workplace that fosters collaboration, innovative thinking and a productive and motivated workforce. But knowing what you want doesn’t always give you a clear idea of how to achieve it.

Organisations often experience big changes and if there are large elements or dynamics which people don’t understand it can lead to dysfunction. So why can’t people just do their job? What’s so difficult about just being professional?

We need to create (or discover) the methods that deal with change and upset so that people around us become closer and supportive rather than defensive or aggressive. That process requires us to understand principles that affect our behaviour, feelings, and thoughts.

Innovation Presentation: Inside Korea′s Creative Economy Innovation Centers

Innovation Presentation: Inside Korea′s Creative Economy Innovation Centers. Just over one month remains until the Korean government completes its launch of 17 innovation centers across the country… as part of its plans to establish a nationwide chain of startup support centers.

For a look inside a center that has already opened and their current state of operations,… Song Ji-sun reports.
Open to any individual or company wanting to start a business with one-on-one mentoring services and customized support from legal advice to patent sharing.
These are just some of the benefits available at Korea′s centers for creative economy and innovation.
With the latest addition of the Gangwon-do center this week, ten innovation centers are now up and running,… and seven more are slated to launch by the end of June.

″Like this center in Korea′s IT and online games capital Pangyo, also known as Techno Valley… all innovation centers are established in areas that can maximize synergy for designated industries… by connecting startups to large companies that can lend them a helping hand.″
This startup with just nine employees was given office space here rent-free for six months.
The team has created an award-winning smartphone app that converts any non-touch display into a temporary touch screen by matching infrared ray points with a special touch pen.

″We wanted to make a ubiquitous classroom or meeting rooms anywhere by utilizing smart devices that almost everyone has these days. Instead of equipping offices with expensive projectors and large instruments, our app enables up to 30 people to simulatenously write and share this board online.″
Startups that are still in the product development stage can also test their products at these state-of-the-art labs, free of charge.
It′s a win-win situation for all involved, including the large companies operating the centers.

″The big firms link startups to their large, pre-established networks. But these companies also benefit by collaborating with startups… as they can enhance their supply chain by outsourcing some of their business to smaller firms.″
These startups can also expand overseas through networks set up with foreign acclerators and Korea Innovation Centers branches abroad.

Disruptive Innovation Video Works

Disruptive Innovation Video Works  by Greg Downing Creative Innovation Lecture. Disruption delivers innovation: Lessons from Hollywood. Hollywood special effects gurus Mr Greg Downing and the University of Newcastle’s Director of Creative Innovation, Mr Jeff Julian showcased the latest in creative imaging and visual effects techniques at this special public lecture.

With many years of experience in the high-end feature film visual effects industry, these artists have worked on a gamut of blockbuster movies.

Their enthusiasm for taking innovations in film and technology and using them for something completely different has often lead them to breakthroughs in innovation beyond the entertainment industry.

“Unusual combinations lead to breakthrough ideas. A great way to generate original ideas is to look for weird combinations. Many new ideas are really combinations of other ideas,” Mr Jeff Julian said.

“These techniques can be applied by filmmakers, business innovators and researchers. Whether recreating historic events in film, revealing complex processes in scientific visualisation, or illustrating environmental change, these new technologies and innovative approaches can offer powerful media solutions,” Mr Julian said.

Greg Downer is the Founder of xRez Studio. He is a pioneer of extreme resolution gigapixel photography and innovator of new technologies such as 3D photogrammetry, laser scanning, terrain modelling and multi-spectral imaging. His photographic work has been displayed in some of the United States most prestigious museums including the American Museum of Natural History, Cincinnati Art Museum and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and the Tech Museum. He teaches at the Gnomon School for Visual Effects and has published professional training DVDs on photogrammetry and panoramic stitching.

The Greg Downing Creative Innovation Lecture was the first in a new series of “Disruptive Innovation Works” public lectures offered by the University of Newcastle to support disruptive innovation.

“Newcastle is home to a vibrant creative community. As an important contributor to that community, the University is excited to provide opportunities like this for any member of the public to engage with world-leaders in cutting edge creative industries,” said Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) Professor Nick Talley.
